Concord, NH - New Hampshire Republican State Committee Chairman Stephen Stepanek released the following statement regarding Senator Maggie Hassan’s vote against an Amendment that would bar convicted felons currently in prison, like cop-killer Michael Addison, from receiving $1400 stimulus checks:
“Senator Maggie Hassan is more committed to the financial stability of criminals than her own constituents,” said NHGOP Chairman Stephen Stepanek. “On March 6th the Senate voted on a measure to prevent convicted felons currently in prison from receiving stimulus checks during the next round of COVID-19 relief. While every Republican Senator voted for the amendment, every Democrat U.S. Senator including Maggie Hassan voted against the amendment, in favor of providing economic assistance to individuals behind bars - including New Hampshire Cop-killer Michael Addison.”
“Senator Hassan should refocus her financial efforts back home to New Hampshire, where Granite Staters are poised to receive a disappointing $233 million less than we would have under the previous COVID-19 relief formula.”
