Concord, NH - NHGOP Chairman Stephen Stepanek released the following statement on Manchester Democrats honoring of Patricia Dwyer with their C.Aurthur & Lillian Soucy award:

"Today New Hampshire Democrats openly scoffed at survivors of domestic violence by awarding Manchester Democrats' Patricia Dwyer with their yearly C.Arthur & Lillian Soucy award," said NHGOP Chairman Stephen Stepanek. Patricia passionately represented disgraced former Democrat state senator Jeff Woodburn who was found guilty of domestic violence and assault. Adding insult to injury, Patricia went on to reference the survivor of disgraced Senator Woodburn’s aggression as a 'sociopath', 'huge liar' and trivialized her as a 'woman scorned'. This event and award recipient has even been promoted by the Chairman of the New Hampshire Democrat Party. New Hampshire Democrats are not only honoring a domestic abuse defender, but disregarding the trauma faced by survivors across the country. I call upon Senator Donna Soucy, Congressman Chris Pappas, Senator Maggie Hassan, and fellow New Hampshire Democrat leaders to denounce this repulsive award selection; surely there is a Manchester Democrat worthy of the honor that hasn’t gone out of their way to defend convicted abuser Jeff Woodburn."
