Concord, NH - The New Hampshire Republican Party released the following statement announcing staffing changes:

“After successfully managing our united NHGOP efforts as Executive Director to take back the State House, Senate, and Executive Council while reelecting our Governor I would like to extend my sincere thanks to Elliot Gault for all of his work here this cycle,” said NHGOP Chairman Stephen Stepanek. Elliot Gault has announced that he will be leaving the party in January to take on a role in Governor Sununu's Office. “We know Elliot will serve the people of New Hampshire well in the Governor’s office in this upcoming term. I am pleased to announce that Joe Sweeney, current NHGOP Communications Director, will be replacing Elliot as Executive Director on January 4th, and our united Republican Party will build on our successes of 2020 as we seek to secure more victories during the 2022 midterm elections and beyond.”

“Serving as the Executive Director of the New Hampshire Republican party has truly been an honor and an experience that I won't soon forget,” said Elliot Gault. “This past cycle the NHGOP raised and spent more money than ever and we were able to defy the odds as the only state in the nation to flip our State Senate, House and Executive Council from Democrat to Republican. None of this would have been possible without Governor Sununu's leadership and the hard work of our activists and stakeholders. The NHGOP has seen significant growth over the last two years and I couldn't be more excited to have Joe Sweeney continue to drive us toward future victories as our next Executive Director.”

“I am excited to build on the great work we have accomplished in these last two years and I extend my congratulations to Elliot on his return to Governor Chris Sununu’s office,” said Joe Sweeney. “I want to thank Chairman Stepanek, Vice Chair Pamela Tucker, and the entire New Hampshire Republican Party for the trust they have placed in me with this opportunity to serve as the next Executive Director. New Hampshire Republicans under Governor Chris Sununu’s leadership will demonstrate our effective and efficient approach to governing, and we will continue to work with our State House teams to ensure we defend and expand our legislative majorities, hold the Executive Council and Corner Office in Republican control, and send Republicans down to Washington in the 2022 midterms.”
