Concord, NH - New Hampshire Republican State Committee Chairman Stephen Stepanek released the following statement after State Senate Republicans advanced SB 130-FN, relative to education freedom accounts:
"Today marks a big win for expanding education opportunities here in New Hampshire," said NHGOP Chairman Stephen Stepanek. "Granite State Students and their families should join me in applauding our Republican Senate for advancing education freedom accounts via SB 130-FN. Education freedom accounts provide families with broader educational opportunities when it comes to school choice. A recent study by the Josiah Bartlett Center for Public Policy showed that the bill will save New Hampshire taxpayers over $6.5 million within the first two years of its implementation. Thank you to Senate President Morse and the Senate Republican Caucus for advancing this critical policy - under Republican leadership, Granite State students are closer to receiving crucial financial support to pursue an education that works best for them. We urge all legislators - Republicans and Democrats - to reject the teacher unions' lies about this legislation and put students first by supporting education freedom accounts this year."
